For two generations, Shama Carpets has been designing, weaving, and exporting fine, hand-knotted rugs to United States and, to other parts of the world as well to serve their expatriate, well-traveled customers.
In 1978 Mr Shakir made a humble birth in the industry of hand knotted carpet industry and quickly established a reputation for serving some of the most demanding customers in the Europe. They wanted what Shama Carpets provides each and every customer responsive, truly individualized, services with fine qualities and exception finishing.
In 2000 His son Mir Mudassir joined the business and shifted more of the business to United States. It wasn’t long before Shama Carpets needed more space and relocated to a larger facility and Shama Carpets reputation just kept on growing.
Mir has seen and understands the trends of the market and has mastered the craft of rug designing and making. He made arrangements to put looms and washing under one roof to be more precise for his customer needs. At the moment Shama carpets has the best infrastructure where Dyeing, designing, weaving, washing and finishing under one roof.
Every season, Mir, introduces new designs and more importantly new colors. As being family owned and they put their hearts in every rug. So every detail and every color count, and all Shama pieces are heavily inspected. Shama Carpets signature is to always ensure that every rug is perfect because they feel as if the customer is family. Shama Carpets is unique because they see themselves as creators of the new generation of rugs, combining classic patterns with contemporary colors to create refined styles with a fresh modern spin.
